Our day at the Fort Worth Zoo!!

Today Tyler and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo with Jessica and Summer!! I LOVE this zoo, so I was super excited to take Tyler there!! Chad and I took him to the Dallas Zoo earlier this year, but it just was not to nice of a zoo.

Mom's Night Out!!!

On Saturday night even though Hurricane Ike was dumping LOTS of rain and somewhat high winds I went out with some of my Mommy friends!! We went to Blue Goose in Plano for some YUMMY margaritas, mexican food, and of course good ADULT conversation!! After, some of us decided to go to this little bar called Austin Avenue. We had so much fun there!! Lots of laughs!! :)

My Little Einstein!!

Look at what they are teaching Tyler at his Mother's Day Out!! I am SUPER impressed!! Today, in the science lab they discussed solids, gases, and liquids. They even did a project on it to show the kids what solids, gases, and liquids were. In art they talked about the letter "K" and did an art project using this letter. When he came home he pointed to the letter and told me what it was!! I was SOO proud of him!!

This is more like a pre-school than a Mother's Day Out!!! Each week they do a science lab, Bible Class once a week, and physical fitness two times a month in addition to outside play time. Tyler LOVES going to school to see his teachers and friends...I am so glad too!!

A few more things he is doing now...
1) Counts from 1-10 all by himself!!!
2) Knows his ABC's ..can sing them with some help!
3) Sings a few nursery rhymes by himself
4) Knows most of his body parts
5) Distinguishes a boy from a girl
6) Knows most animals and their sounds
7) Cleans up his spot and sings the "clean up song" w/ me and by himself sometimes when I ask him to clean up his spot!!
8) There are MANY more...he amazes me every day with what he does!!
I am SUPER SUPER SUPER proud of my baby!!

Tyler's new BIG BOY bedroom!!

For the past month or so Tyler has been sleeping HORRIBLE...I mean, worse than an infant!! So, Chad and I figured maybe he is too big for the crib....or maybe he just wants his Mommy all the time. We put him in the spare bed w/ rails until we got his new big boy bed. We wanted to find something perfect!! Well, on Saturday we picked out the perfect bed and dresser!! They delivered his new big boy bedroom today!! Tyler was soo excited!! We watched the guys carry his bed and dresser up to his room. He was so anxious to go in there to see it. As soon as the guys were done he got the BIGGEST smile!! He said, "Big Boy Bed" It was too cute!!

Tyler and I went to the store to pick out bedding and he got SOOOOO excited when he saw Dora and Boots!! I felt so bad that I had to tell him we could not get Dora. He started to cry. It was so sad...how do you explain to a 2 yr old he can not have something like that?? We made a compromise...I told Tyler we can get a Dora and Boots book and we will get a different quilt for his new bedroom. It was so cute!! He was fine w/ that!! So, we ended up getting this camo-like bedding for now. We want to do an under the sea type theme. Chad wants to put a mini fish tank in his bedroom. He would LOVE that!!

So, the BIG question I am sure you are asking ...Did Tyler sleep all night long?? No :( .....
But, he did not wake up until 3:30AM. (this is MUCH better than 11PM and/or 1AM) He called my name.... He did not scream, bang on the door, and/or throw himself against the door this time!! Thank Goodness...Nothing is harder on me than listening to my little boy scream/cry for me!! So, I did go up there and check and him and he just needed a Mommy hug!! I told Tyler he needed to go back to sleep for just a little bit and then we could get up together...He did! :)
Hopefully, soon he will start sleeping all night!!! This is so hard on me (Chad too) but more me since I am the one who gets up w/ him..Anyways, enough complaining! Here are some pics of his new big boy bed!!!

BUSY weekend

On Friday night Chad and I went to see The Texas Rangers play...or I guess they tried to play...
When we left at the 7th inning the score was like 7 to 0!! I just don't get The Rangers...They used to be AWESOME before the new stadium...Oh well....We still had a blast! Chad's work has suite tickets, so it was nice to sit in the cool air conditioned room and watch the game or go outside and still cool off w/ a YUMMY glass of wine or a cold beer!!! Did I mention the Ballpark Hot Dogs?? YUMMY!!

On Saturday, we swam again...I am really not looking forward to summer ending 'cuz I really LOVE to swim!! Maybe my WONDERFUL husband will surprise me with a nice trip to an island for our anniversary - hint, hint ;)

Labor Day Weekend!

Our family had a FABULOUS Labor Day Weekend!!! On Saturday, I went to a baby shower for my friend, Caroline. Chad and Tyler got to hang out and have some "Daddy and Tyler time" This was really good for them!! Tyler normally only wants to go to me.....which don't get me wrong, I LOVE.....but it's nice to sometimes have him want his Daddy too!! After I got home we cooked out on our patio and played!


On Sunday, we did some errands and other stuff during the day. Sunday night Tyler went to Rayme's house so Chad and I could have our date night!! We went to Pappadeux for dinner. I was craving seafood and this really hit the spot....It was YUMMY!! After, we went to this new little restaurant in Frisco called II Brothers. It was good too!! We sat on their patio (which by the way was super nice) and drank a few margaritas!!

On Monday, we went swimming at Rayme's! We had an awesome weekend....Here are some pics...Enjoy!

Tomorrow, Tyler starts back at his Mother's Day Out!! I am very excited!! He is too (I think). I know it will be a little hard for him at first, but he will have so much fun there. It also sounds like he will learn LOTS! This is a Mother's Day Out, but it's more structured as a pre - school. For instance, they have science lab once a week, Bible Class, Math (counting), Physical Education...I know he will have a BLAST and learn SOO much!!!!
